SAHA women’s team draws even in weekend showcase

The South Alberta Women’s Hockey team split their weekend on the road at Delta Hockey Academy showcase.

They opened up a four-game slate with a 2-1 win over RHA Winnipeg. Keira Grant and Kenzie Carson provided SAHA’s offence and Maddy Ferguson made 15 saves for the win.

SAHA carried their winning ways into Friday with a 22-save shutout from Devyn Amundson, leading them to a 4-0 win over St. Mary’s Academy. Grant had a goal and two assists in the win, Natalie Grant added a goal and an assist and Kendal Davidson and Riley Gramlich each scored as well.

On Saturday the results went the other way as SAHA fell 4-1 to Edge. Brianna Finke had their lone goal and Ferguson made 33 saves in net.

SAHA wrapped up their weekend with a 1-0 loss in a rematch with RHA Winnipeg. Amundson made 22 saves in the loss.

The SAHA women’s team (11-9-0-1) has two games this weekend in Medicine Hat at Big Marble Go Centre. They host the Northern Alberta Xtreme on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and St. Mary’s on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
