Ringette roundup: U12 Phoenix split weekend on the road

The Medicine Hat U12 Phoenix were on the road this weekend.

The local ringette team travelled Sunday to High River for two games. Their first contest was against the Foothills Fierce, where they lost 10-2. Breanna Lanuk and Lacey Gibney scored the Phonenix’ only goals and Sophia Smith was between the pipes.

In Medicine Hat’s second game, they faced the Indus Lightning and came away with a 10-7 win. Jacqueline LeBlanc defended the goal well while both Brea Butterfield and Lanuk scored four goals each. Kassidy Etienne and Olivia Ulbricht each also had a goal.

The Medicine Hat Phoenix travel to Calgary on Saturday to face off against the Bowview Hotshots and South Calgary Phantoms.

U10

The U10 Step 3 Gators were on the road playing two games Sunday.

In the morning they faced Foothills with Annabelle O’Reilly in net and goals being scored by Peyton Howes and Annalise Robins.

The afternoon game against the Cochrane Sour Lemons resulted in an 8-8 tie and saw Brinley Cross in net. The Gators were down with three seconds left in the game when Robins scored a goal to tie it up 8-8.

Robins and Howes each scored two goals in the game and Arika McDowall, Danna Sawchuk, Brylee Dirk and Grace Stirling each scoring a goal.
