Waves, AMAC swim clubs compete in Calgary

Two local swim clubs compete at the Young Waves Swimmers Rock 2023 Winter Festival South this weekend.

That meet serves as the first provincial meet for the top 10&U Girls and 11&U boys in Southern Alberta for the 2022-2023 season.

Here are the full results from both clubs.

Waves

Girls 10 and under

Isabel Miller (10) 14th in 100 m breast, 49th in 50 m free, 26th in 50 m breast, 24th in 100 m IM.

Boys 11 and under

Elijah Hooke (10) 58th in 50 m free, 11th in 50 m breast, 10th in 100 m IM, 54th in 50m back and second in 100 m breast.

AMAC

Gage Anderson (10) – Received five new best times. Placed third in 100 m Mixed Free Relay and 100 m Mixed Medley Relay, fourth in 100 m back, sixth in 100 m free, ninth in 100 m IM, 17th place in 50 m Breast and 50 m back, and 26th place in 50 m Free.

Emily Carter (10) – Received three new best times. Placed third in 100 m Mixed Free Relay and 100 m Mixed Medley Relay. Placed 12th in 100 m Breast, 19th in 50 m Breast, 51st in 100 m free, 40th in 100 m IM, 67th in 50 m Back, and 68th in 50 m free.

Olivia Liebenberg (10) – Received 4 new best times. Placed 3rd in 100m Mixed Free Relay and 100m Mixed Medley Relay. Placed 25th in 100m Breast, 33rd in 50m Breast and 100m IM, 34th in 10m Free, 44th in 50m Free, and 63rd in 50m Back.

Masao Mori (11) – Received six new best times. Placed third in 100 m Mixed Free Relay and 100 m Mixed Medley Relay. Placed fourth in 100 m IM, fifth in 100m Breast, sixth in 50 m Fly, seventh in 50 m Breast, ninth in 100 m Free, and 12th in 50 m free.

Next up for the club is the Prong Horn Classic Swim meet hosted by LASC in Lethbridge.
