Local wheelchair basketball talent will be on full display this weekend at the Big Marble Go Centre.
Medicine Hat Adaptive Sport and Recreation is hosting the Medicine Hat Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. It is a round-robin tournament featuring wheelchair basketball teams from Medicine Hat and Lethbridge competing against one another throughout the weekend.
The Medicine Hat Mustangs have two adult teams entered who will face the lone visiting team, The Lethbridge Steamers. Each squad will be playing four games throughout the weekend and the tournament schedule can be found at http://www.mhasr.com. There is no fee for the public to come watch and there will be a minis (kids) wheelchair basketball showcase game on Saturday afternoon from 1-2:30 p.m.
For those interested in giving wheelchair basketball a try, MHASR will be hosting a community try it event on Saturday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Big Marble. At the grassroots level, athletes with and without disabilities are welcome to play together.
