Medicine Hat swimmers compete in Edmonton

Medicine Hat swimming talent was on display this past weekend at the OSC JP Fiset Invitational in Edmonton.

Medicine Hat’s two local clubs Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club and the MH Waves Swim Club sent a combined 18 swimmers to compete. Here are the top-20 results from the local swimmers.

Waves Swim Club

Girls 13 and 14

Rowynn Biffart (14) Finished first in 200 m back and 200 m breast, second in 100 m back,200 m IM, third in 50 m back, 100 m breast and fifth in 50 m breast.

Sarah Kradovill (14) Finished ninth in 50 m fly and 200 m breast, 10th in 50 m breast, 13th in 100 m free and 100 m breast, 13th, 15th in 200 m IM and 20th in 100 m back.

Boys 14 and 15

Johnathan Marshall (15) Finished 15th in 50 m breast, 16th in 50 m fly and 18th in 100 m breast.

William Miller (14) Finished fourth in 1500 m free, 15th in 200 m back and 19th in 400 m free.

Kage Senft (14) Had a 13th place finish in the 100 m fly and 50 m back and 14th in 200 m IM.

Boys 16 and over

Karsten Senft (17) Finished 11th in 400 m free, 12th in 200 m back and 17th in 50 m back.

AMAC

Girls 12 and under

Aliya Seeley (12) achieved three new best times. She placed 20th in 200 m free and 13th in 100 m back and 100 m free.

Girls 13-14

Abigail Begin (14) reached four new best times. She placed fourth in 50 m back, 13th in 50 m fly, 16th in 100 m back, 17th in 100 m Fly and 18th in 50 m free.

Morgan Hobson (14) had four new best times and finished first in the 100 m and 50 m breast. She also placed eighth in 100 m breast, 12th in 50 m breast and 13th in 800 m free.

Kora Kurpjuweit (14) had two new best times. She finished 13th in 50 m fly and 100 m fly.

Girls 15 and over

Jaivyn Barabe (17) placed third in 50 m breast and 100 m breast, seventh in 50 m fly and 11th in 50 m free.

Kristin Hollingworth (16) achieved three new best times and placed 14th in 100 m free, 15th in 200 m IM and 17th in 50 m fly.

Boys 13 and under

Caen McWilliams (13) achieved first ever provincial champ times in 800 m free and 200 m back and seven new best times.

He also placed sixth in 800 m free, eighth in 400 m free, 10th in 200 m back, 13th in 200 m free, 15th in 100 m back and 19th in 50 m back.

Boys 14-15

Hunter Skrove (15) had one new best time and placed seventh in 50 m breast, 12th in 50 m fly and 17th in 100 m free.

Boys 16 and over

Ashton Scholly (17) placed seventh in 50 m back, 13th in 100 m back and 10 0m fly, 15th in 50 m fly, 16th in 100 m free and 18th in 50 m free.

Next up for AMAC, they are hosting a duel / Tri meet Jan. 21 at the Big Marble Go Centre where swimmers have one last shot at obtaining a provincial time.
