sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat U14 Mud Dawgs head into the Ed Horvath tournament this weekend on a high note. In their first game of the weekend, they beat the South Calgary Blackout 9-3. Sadie Bertad stood strong in the game holding South Calgary to their three goals. The Mud Dawgs’ offence came from Kensie Provost and Leighton Wright who each had three goals, Margot Kerr who had two of her own and Jayna Allchurch who added a goal. In their second game, the Mud Dawgs came back and beat the Northwest Rampage 11-10. The game was highlighted with solid goaltending from both Emma Pinnell and Berstad. Mud Dawgs goals were scored by Kensie Provost who found the back of the net four times, Wright, Sutton Provost and Kerr who each had two goals and Eden Schmunk with a goal of her own. U10 The U10 Step 1 Jr. Gators were back in action with a two-game home set against the Cochrane Rockies. In their first game, Lexxon Martinez, Charlie Lowe and Aphten Myram recorded three goals each in the contest. Their second game started strong and the team continued to highlight their skills and teamwork. Myram had some solid stops between the pipes, while also recording another three goals. Martinez, Lowe, Dylin Kerluke and Everley Cross also tallied three goals each. Addy McKinley and Kylee Drever added to the score to finish off strong. The U10 Step 1 Gators’ next action is at the Ed Horvath Tournament. 9
