The Hounds beat the Taber Golden Suns 4-1 Saturday before losing 5-4 against the Central Alberta Selects on Sunday. In Saturday’s win, Hayden King led the offence with a goal and an assist, with Jacob Hazzard, Kaden Paulson and Gavin Smith each scored. Silas Currie made 27 saves in the win. Against the Selects, Brennan Wereley and Smith each scored two goals, totalling the Hounds’ four goals. Tyler Wakelam turned aside 23 of the shots he faced. The U18AA Hounds (4-8-1) have two games this weekend, they face the Red Deer Elks on the road Saturday and host the Foothills Bisons on Sunday at the Hockey Hounds arena. U17 The U17AAA SEAC Tigers dropped both of their weekend games, losing 5-3 on Saturday against the South Side Bulldogs and 5-4 Sunday against the Red Deer North Star Chiefs. In Saturday’s loss, Kellin Hodgson had a goal and an assist and Cash Olson and Slide McFadzen each had a goal. Kolter Gans made 42 saves between the pipes for the Tigers. Against Red Deer on Sunday, Kayden Yeaman and Hodgson each had a goal and two assists, Garrett Janzen had a goal and an assist and Olson added a goal. Colby Gullizer had two helpers. Kayne Wright turned aside 31 shots in the game. The U17AAA Tigers (4-5-2) have two games on the road this weekend, facing the KC Centennials on Saturday and the Grande Peace Storm on Sunday. U16 The U16AA Medicine Hat Hounds had an undefeated weekend, beating the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-0 on Saturday and tying the Okotoks Oilers 3-3 on Sunday. Leighton Verishine and Kian Green each had a goal and an assist and Grady Hudec and Grady Ford had a goal each. Adam Ranger turned aside all 25 shots he faced. In their tie on Sunday, Verishine, Green and Hudec had the Hounds offence with a goal and an assist each. Parker McLaughlin stopped 36 shots between the pipes. The U16AA Hounds (5-1-2) have two road contests this weekend, facing the CNHA Northstars on Saturday and the Airdrie-Bow Valley Hounds on Sunday. U15 The U15AAA SEC Tigers dropped both of their weekend games, losing 3-0 against the Calgary Bisons on Saturday and 3-2 on Sunday against the Calgary Royals. Hudson Corbett turned aside 35 shots faced in their loss against the Bisons. Against the Royals, Brennan Finke and Kingston Chisholm each scored and Corbett made 30 saves. The U15AAA Tigers (1-13-1) have a two-game home set this weekend against the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday and Sunday. U13 The U13AA Medicine Hat Hounds also went undefeated on their weekend, starting off with a 1-1 tie against the Lethbridge Hurricanes and beating the Okotoks Oilers 7-4 on Saturday. Cooper Craven scored the Hounds’ lone goal in the tie and Paxton Smigelski made 25 saves. Against the Oilers, George Maser had two goals and two assists to lead the offence. Cole Siewert had two goals and an assist and Lucas Fisher added two goals of his own. Chase Droeske rounded out the scoring with a goal of his own. Braden Tschritter had 21 saves. The Hounds (9-2-4) host the Airdrie Lightning on Saturday before hitting the road to face the Taber Golden Suns on Sunday. 24
