The Medicine Hat Cubs embraced their winning ways this weekend on the road.

They picked up three straight wins for a four-game streak and victories in eight of their last 10.

The Cubs opened the weekend with a 13-3 win against the Three Hills Thrashers. Colby Friedrich and Cooper Hilworth each had four points in the win, putting up a goal and three assists and two goals and two assists, respectively.

Vaughn Strutt had three goals, Levi Schlosser and Callan Prosofsky each had two goals and Braden Petey, Caleb Garrecht and Carson Christianson rounded out the scoring with a goal each. They outshot the Thrashers 50-25, with Kaiden Morin picking up the win in net with 22 saves.

On Saturday, the Cubs narrowly edged out the Mountainview Colts, beating them 7-6. Kyle Woolridge and Friedrich each scored twice, and Dylan Trembecki and Connor Miller each added one. Prosofsky scored the game winner.

Mark Peddle started the game with nine saves before Morin took over the last 40 minutes, turning aside 18 shots for the victory.

Peddle rebounded Sunday turning aside all nine shots he faced in a 6-0 win over the Rocky Rams.

Jacob Milne and Schlosser each had two goals with Friedrich and Hilworth each notching a marker of their own.

The Cubs (11-4-2) sit in third in the HJHl’s Southern division and are at home this weekend taking on the Coaldale Copperheads on Friday and the Airdrie Thunder on Sunday.

Friday’s game gets underway at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday’s game, a 3 p.m. start, is a special event as the Cubs will host their Air the Bear night. All teddy bears and cash will be donated to Halo Air Ambulance. Both games at the Kinplex.
