Minor Hockey Roundup: U17AAA SEAC Tigers sweep weekend

The Medicine Hat U17AAA SEAC Tigers picked up two wins over the weekend at home, winning both of their contests.

They opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over the Parkland Saints on Saturday. Treyson Girletz, Tate Bowal and Randen Collier had the Tigers goals in the win and net minder Kayne Wright made 27 saves for the victory.

On Sunday the Tigers beat the Calgary Bulls 5-2. Joey Clarke led the offence with two goals and an assist. Cash Olson had a goal and an assist and Collier and Girletz each had a goal. Kolter Gans turned aside 36 shots for the Tigers win.

The U17 SEAC Tigers (3-1) have one game on the docket this week as they host the Calgary Northstars on Sunday at the Hockey Hounds arena.

U18

The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds split their weekend, losing 4-2 Friday to the NWCAA Stamps and winning 3-2 against the CBHA Hawks on Sunday.

Wyatt Bower had two assists and Gavin Smith and Braxton Spencer each had a goal in Friday’s loss. Tyler Wakelam made 28 saves against the NWCAA Stamps.

In Saturday’s win, Brandyn Baird had two goals with Bower rounding out the offence with a goal of his own. Kaden Paulson and Smith each had two assists and Silas Currie made 40 saves in the win.

The U18AA Hounds (2-4) have two games this weekend as they host the CRAA Gold at the Kinplex on Friday and welcome the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday at the Moose Rec. Centre.

U15

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers had two games this weekend, a 7-5 loss on Saturday to the Calgary Bisons and a 7-0 defeat to the Airdrie Extreme on Sunday.

Against the Bisons, Brennan Finke had a goal and two assists, Kingston Chisholm had a goal and an assist and Ethan Hall, Treyden Kleinknecht and Ty Wasyluk each had a goal in the loss. Hudson Corbett made 37 saves in net.

Grady Brost was in net for the Tigers loss to Airdrie on Sunday and he had 39 saves.

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers (0-7) play twice this weekend as they head to Calgary on Saturday to take on the Northstars before hosting the Calgary Bisons on Sunday at the Hockey Hounds arena.

U13

The U13AA Medicine Hat Hounds had one game this weekend, a 2-2 draw with the Red Deer Parkland. Mason Pollard and Chase Droeske had the Hounds goals and Paxton Smigelski had 19 saves in the tie.

The U13AA Hounds (5-0-2) next action is this weekend when they host the Olds Grizzlys on Saturday at the Hockey Hounds arena before hitting the road Sunday to face the Foothills Bisons.
