Knights split series in Montana

The Medicine Hat Knights U18 team travelled to the United States this past weekend and faced two Montana teams.

They opened their series Saturday with an 8-7 loss to the Great Falls Chargers A team. JJ Harnett and Talen Crockford led the way offensively in the loss with two hits and two RBIs.

Mace Carriere started the game on the mound and threw two and a third innings with a strikeout. Pryce Velichko took over on the bump and worked four innings for Medicine Hat.

The Knights picked up a win in their second game Saturday, a 15-2 win in a rematch with Great Falls.

Cade Moch led the way offensively with two hits and four RBIs. Talen Crockford also carried some offensive weight, knocking in three RBIs with three hits.

Parker Hunt picked up the complete-game win, notching five strikeouts in his five innings of work.

The Knights carried their winning ways into Sunday as they beat the Tri-County Cardinals 8-4. Velichko led the way in that win with two hits and two RBIs. Harnett was on the mound for the Knights win, working four and two thirds innings with two strikeouts. Moch took over on the bump and worked two and a third innings with three strikeouts.

The Knights finished their weekend with a 13-4 loss to the Cardinals. Dylan Amundson had two hits in the loss. Cole Carlson, Wryder Welte, Brody Walter and Landon Macpherson all pitched in the loss with Walter notching three strikeouts.
