The Medicine Hat Knights U18 baseball team won two of their four games this weekend. The Knights opened their weekend with a 9-8 walk-off win Friday against the Inland Empire Astros on an RBI single from Parker Hunt. Cole Carlson picked up the win on the mound with three and two thirds innings pitched. Brody Walter started the contest for the Knights and racked up three strikeouts in three and a third innings work. Pryce Velichko, Cade Moch and JJ Harnett all collected multiple hits in the win. The Knights dropped their second contest Friday, losing 8-6 to the Kootenai Valley Rangers. Harnett led the way offensively with one hit and three RBI. Parker Hunt started the game for the Knights and registered two strikeouts in his two and a third innings. Velichko came in relief for four innings and racked up three strikeouts of his own. Wryder Welte retired the last two batters of the game for the Knights. Medicine Hat opened their Saturday with a 12-4 loss to the Kalispell Lakers. Moch started for the Knights and picked up two strikeouts in his two innings of work. Dryden Pidlisny took over and threw two innings with one strikeout before Mace Carrire took over for an inning and a third. The Knights won their final game of the weekend, a 6-3 victory over the Lethbridge Lakers. Parker Krauss led the way offensively with two hits and RBI as Harnett earned the complete game win with three strikeouts in the process. Monarchs split weekend series The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs U18 team was in action this weekend with two games against the Elks AA ball team. The Monarchs took the first contest by a score of 13-3. Evan Morrison led the way offensively with three hits and three RBIs in the win. Cade Harrison crossed the plate three times and had three RBIs of his own. Payton Eddy was on the mound for the Moose and picked up the win working five innings with nine strikeouts. The Monarchs were shutout 7-0 in their second contest against the Elks. Dylan Lefler started the game and had three strikeouts in his five innings pitched. Kayden Hleucka and Trevin Ressler entered the game from the bullpen to work the final inning. 15
