The Medicine Hat Mavericks’ late inning struggles continue. The Mavericks led the Lethbridge Bulls 6-0 after five innings Thursday and ended up losing 9-6 in Lethbridge for their second loss in a row. Medicine Hat led the Edmonton Prospects 8-3 after six innings Wednesday night before giving up six runs in three innings to lose 9-8. Ethan Bromley started the game for the Mavericks and held the Bulls to three runs over five innings with five strikeouts. Nathan Stark was on the mound to start the seventh and could not get an out while allowing two runs. Jacob Prosch took over for Stark and was charged with the loss after allowing four Bulls runs to score in his inning and a third of work. Nathan Ewing got the final out of the eighth inning with a strikeout. The Mavericks were led offensively by centre fielder Braden DeSonia who had two hits and two RBIs. Second basemen Kellan Williamson also had two hits in Thursday’s loss at Spitz Stadium. The Mavericks(4-5) are back in action Friday when they host the Brooks Bombers at Athletic Park.
