Svejkovsky signs NHL deal with Pittsburgh

Former Medicine Hat Tiger Lukas Svejkovsky put pen to paper Tuesday.

The 20-year-old signed a three year, entry level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who drafted Svejkovsky 108th overall in 2020.

He’s split his fourth and final season in the WHL between Medicine Hat and the Seattle Thunderbirds and put up 32 goals and 41 assists in 55 games.

He was traded from the Hat to Seattle on Dec. 28, 2021 for a first-round pick in the 2022 WHL Draft, a conditional second-round pick in 2023 WHL Draft and a conditional third-round pick in the 2025 WHL Draft.
