South Alberta Hockey Academy’s U18 male prep team had its season come to a close this weekend. After finishing the Canadian Sport School Hockey League season with a record of 21-11-1-1 SAHA had three games to qualify for the U18 Western Championships. They dropped their final game Friday, losing 8-3 to Edge after spliting their first two contests on Wednesday and Thursday, losing 6-5 to Rink Kelowna in a shootout and beating Yale Prep 5-3 Thursday. Shane Smith, Cole Unger and Braxton Thornton scored for SAHA in Friday’s season-ending loss as Zach Zahara made 28 saves. Elijah Anderson had two goals in Wednesday’s loss while Josh Perreault, Dayden Collier and Aiden Oiring rounded out the scoring. Brock Lott made 41 saves. In Thursday’s win, Smith scored twice again as Kohen Morrison, Perreault and Oiring rounded out SAHA’s scoring. Zahara picked up the win with 37 saves. 6
