The Medicine Hat Boxing Club competed in Red Deer over the weekend and came away with two wins.
The Saturday night event was a fundraiser event put on in the Blue Grass Greenhouse in front of 1,000 fans.
Medicine Hat boxers rose to the occasion as Kade Linford defeated Hamdaan Ahsan from Marshall Boxing Club in Edmonton in the Novice 51-kilogram junior B division and Nate Vossler defeated Troy Kemick from Marshall Boxing in the 54-kilogram Novice Youth division.
Tristan Deveau lost a battle by split division to provincial champ Mohammed Moghrabi in the senior Open 86-kilogram division. Hat coach Kerry Fahlman said Deveau rocked Moghrabi with a big uppercut in the second round but Moghrabi was able to continue after the eight count. Fahlman said the match won best bout of the night and was a huge crowd pleaser.
Medicine Hat Boxing Club’s next action is Mar. 19 in Calgary.
