The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s basketball team continues to sign local players. The team signed Hannah Fisher from Medicine Hat High School for the 2022-23 season. She said in a Rattlers Instagram post Tuesday that she is excited to continue both her academic and athletic pursuits in her hometown. “One of my top priorities in choosing a school was a small-town environment that provides support both on and off the court to student athletes and MHC fits the bill,” Fisher said. “I look forward to joining my Rattler teammates next fall.” Fisher will study UT Science while battling on the court for the Rattlers. Rattlers women’s basketball coach Clayton Nielsen said he is excited to have Fisher join their team next season. “We have observed her since the beginning of the high school basketball season and she has shown improvement over that time. She also attended our Christmas camp and player development shoots…,” Nielsen said. “She has shown a desire to get better and work on improving her skills which is a great characteristic we want to see in our players. We could not be happier to add another local athlete that is hard working and highly academic to our roster for next year.” The Rattlers women’s basketball team finished their regular season last Friday with a 65-48 win over Briercrest College. They will compete in the ACAC playoffs starting Mar. 4. 9
