The Panthers and Bulldogs cross country teams battled the cold weather to start the year and took part in the Alberta Indoor Games in Edmonton. Zaynna Willoughby with the Panthers, took part in the U18 60m race, 60m hurdles and 300m run. She finished with times of 8.67, 10.05 and 49.36 in her three races. The Panthers Eve Maser took part in the U16 60m and 300m races. Her times in the competition were 8.86 and 47.69. The Bulldogs team had three competitors at the indoor games. Justina Renke competed at the U20 level and she finished with two personal bests in weight throw and shot put. Dustin Morris followed suit and also competed at the U20 level and had three personal bests in the 60m, 300m races and long jump. Sean Freeman took first place in the master level 60m race and the pentathlon. The pentathlon consists of competing in five events: 60m hurdles, long jump, shot put, high jump and 1000m in one day. Competitors acquire points based on their results that add up to a total. The Bulldogs next competition is the Alberta Indoor Track and Field Championships in Edmonton at the University of Alberta on Mar. 4-6. 10
