The U19B Mavens were busy this weekend with four games of ringette over Saturday and Sunday. It was a back-and-forth couple of days as the Mavens dropped both of their Saturday exhibition contests against the Bow View Bruins, 9-5 and 11-1. The Saturday games had goals from Kylee Waldegger, who had two, Hailey Sanders, Serina Grona, Leah Jetter and Leah Mason. The Mavens turned it around Sunday sweeping the Airdrie Rampage in back-to-back games by scores of 6-3 and 6-5. Goal scorers were led by Grona and Waldegger who both had three, Raynah Gibney and Nolah Reid had two goals and Hailey Sanders and Jetter rounded out the scoring in the wins with one goal a piece. The Mavens next league action is Feb. 19 in Calgary and Airdrie. U16 The U16 Goal Diggers took part in the annual Queen City Classic ringette tournament in Regina and came home with a perfect 5-0 record and the gold. The Goal Diggers took on the Regina Riot on Friday morning and beat them 6-2. Hanna Thompson led the way with three goals while Sophie Kerr, Brooklyn Schlenker and Pacie Harper rounded out the scoring with one each. Friday night the Goal Diggers faced the Regina Chargers and again won by a score of 6-2. Leading the attack this game was Mackenzie Tindall with three goals and two assists. Other goal scorers were Harper with two goals and Thompson with one. Jaida Waldegger picked up three assists. Saturday morning the Goal Diggers took on the top team in Regina, BP Renegades, and the Goal Diggers pulled out a 5-4 win. Kyree Stern-Rebmann was the difference making big saves in the win. In their Saturday night game, the Diggers beat the Regina Ringmasters 11-2. Thompson led the team offensively with three goals and three assists. Kasey Martin had four points in the win. In the Sunday final the Diggers took on the BP Impact and secured the gold with a 5-3 win. Tindall, Harper, Avery Weisgerber, Kerr, and Martin all netted goals in the win. Next action for the Goal Diggers is Feb. 19 when they travel to Calgary for two final league games against NW Calgary. U14 The Impact also headed to the Regina Queen City Classic last weekend and brought home their third gold of the season. In the first game against the Regina Predators, the Impact won 5-3. Erika Want, Kensie Provost, Leighton Wright, Jordy Provost and Ella Seale all scored in the win. In the second game, the Impact came out with the lopsided win of 11-2 over the Saskatoon Grit. Jordy Provost led the offence with three goals, Ryleigh Jackiw, Sophia Stock and Kensie Provost each had two goals and Ava Allchurch, and Maren Berstad rounded out the scoring with one each. In their third game, the Impact were down 4 to 2 but came back to beat the BP Extreme 7-4. Ryleigh Jackiw had a hat trick, Jordy Provost had two, and Ava Allchurch and Leighton Wright rounded out with one each. Big saves from Sadie Bertad in net to pull out the win. In the fourth game of the tournament, the Impact won 7-4 over the Regina Reign. Ryleigh Jackiw had two goals and Margot Kerr, Leighton Wright, Kensie Provost, Allchurch and Sophia Stock each had a goal in the win. Stock also had three assists against the Reign. After the round robin play the Impact finished 1st overall and punched their ticket to the gold medal game. In the finals, the Impact won 5-2 over the hometown Regina Riot. Goal scorers were Allchurch, Ryleigh Jackiw, Wright,Berstad and Kensie Provost. Next action for the Impact is this weekend in Calgary for two league games. 23
