Tigers weekend Manitoba road trip postponed, now face Moose Jaw Saturday at Co-op Place

By MEDICINE HAT NEWS on February 1, 2022.

The Medicine Hat Tigers can unpack their travel bags.

The Western Hockey League announced Monday afternoon the postponement of four regular season games due to capacity restrictions in the province of Manitoba.

Medicine Hat was supposed to take on the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday and battle the Winnipeg Ice on both Saturday and Sunday.

The WHL hasn’t played a game in Manitoba under the current COVID-19 regulations since Brandon’s home game against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Dec. 30

Medicine Hat will fill the schedule Saturday with a makeup home game against the Moose Jaw Warriors.

The Tigers were supposed to take on the Moose Jaw on Jan. 8 but that game was postponed due to the Warriors being shut down.

Without the rescheduled game, the Tigers’ only contest this week will be on the road in Edmonton on Wednesday night.

They now have four games to make up after their match with the Saskatoon Blades on Jan. 25 was postponed due to the Blades having COVID-19.
