There will be a lot of high-end girls hockey this weekend in the Hat. South Alberta Hockey Academy is hosting a 10-team showcase this weekend with girls U18 prep teams from the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. There will be 16 games played over Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Big Marble Go Centre and the Hockey Hounds Recreational Centre. The SAHA girls get their weekend started with a 7:30 p.m. game tonight against Northern Alberta Female Prep at the Go Centre. Saturday SAHA takes on Edge School at the Go Centre with the puck dropping at 5 p.m. Their final contest of the showcase is at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday against St. Mary’s Academy at the Go Centre. The showcase is the first action for the SAHA girls since Dec. 19, when they went on their Holiday break. Through the first 14 games of their season, SAHA has a 4-9-0-0-1 record. On the U18 boys side, the SAHA squad hit the Holiday break on Dec. 12 with a record of 15-4-0-0-1 in 22 games. They aren’t in action again until Jan. 15 when they hit the road to Wilcox, Sask. for a two-game series against the U18 Notre Dame Hounds. 10
