Three Hatters to represent Alberta in B.C. tourney

Even with the high school football season having come to a close, three Hatters will suit up for one more game on a bigger stage.

Football Alberta announced its U16, U17 and U18 Team Alberta rosters on Dec. 8 and two of the teams have some local representation.

Medicine Hat High offensive lineman Logan Wells and McCoy Colts lineman Xavier Beuckert were named to the U18 squad. Beuckert will line up on the offensive side of the ball and Wells will be on the defensive.

Hawks head coach Quinn Skelton has also been selected, and will take the role of defensive coordinator for Alberta’s U18 coaching staff.

Hawks linebacker Joshua Lovis was named to the U17 team. Lovis will show his capabilities on the offensive line for the U17 squad.

Players flew out on Saturday with games held in Langley, B.C.

Both team’s will play at McLeod Stadium, with the U18 game taking place on Monday and the U17 getting underway Tuesday.
