Fans will be allowed at Hat High’s annual Green and White Invitational senior basketball tournament this weekend. The school announced via Instagram Wednesday that fans are now allowed at MHHS sporting events under Alberta’s restriction exemption program. A total of 16 boys and girls teams will take part in the tournament. Schools such as Chestermere, Raymond, Foothills Composite, Magrath and more will participate in the three-day event. The Hat High girls team gets the tournament underway tonight at 6:15 p.m. against Crescent Heights in the East gym. Hat High’s senior boys team gets a familiar foe in their first tournament matchup, as they are taking on their JV own team. That intraschool game also gets underway tonight right after the girls game, with tip off at 8 p.m. Any fans wishing to attend the tournament are required to provide proof of vaccination through a government-issued QR code, or provide a negative PCR test. Everyone in attendance will need to show proof of identification and must wear a mask at all times. Anyone not wearing a mask will be asked the leave the gymnasium for the remainder of the game. 7
