The South East Athletic Club Tigers rallied to three straight victories over the past week, 4-3 over the Lloydminster Bobcats Thursday, 4-1 over the Grande Peace Storm Friday and 1-0 over the St. Albert Flyers in a Saturday overtime battle. Will Bell potted a pair Thursday, while Noah Derouin and Heath Geekie rounded out the scoring and Kaige Schafer stopped 25 shots for the win. Bell added two more Friday, with supporting scoring from Makhi Carriere and Deegen Bert. Keegen Stenger stopped 16 shots for the win. Ryder Stimson played the hero Saturday with the only goal of the game just past two minutes into overtime. Schafer stopped 38 shots to secure the shutout and push the Tigers to 7-10-0 on the Alberta Elite Hockey League season. They hit the road Saturday to face the Calgary Royals. U16 AA boys The Medicine Hat Hounds U16 AA squad dropped a pair of 5-4 battles on the road this weekend to Red Deer TBS and the West Central Panthers. Treyson Girletz, Drew Thompson, Wyatt Bower and Parker Forrest scored in Friday’s loss to Red Deer. Girletz struck two more times in Saturday’s loss to Sylvan Lake, while Hayden Smith added a pair of his own. Merrick Kurpjuweit stopped 23 shots in Saturday’s loss. Jerzy Walter stopped 35 on Friday. The Hounds (3-13-1) will be on the road Saturday against the NWCAA Bruins before returning home Sunday to host the CBHA Rangers at the Hockey Hounds Arena. U18 AA boys The Medicine Hat Hounds U18 AA team settled for a pair of ties this weekend, 3-3 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes Friday, then 3-3 again to the Okotoks Oilers on Sunday. Joshua Drefs scored twice Friday, while Jackson Bowal had a goal and an assist, and Tyler Wakelam stopped 24 shots to preserve the tie. Bowal and Drefs each added another on Sunday, Kyle Woolridge rounded out the scoring and Kaiden Morin stopped 32 shots in net. The Hounds (9-2-5) host the Okotoks Oilers on Friday night at the Kinplex. U15 AAA boys The South East Athletic Club Tigers U15 AAA squad went without a win over the weekend, tying the Calgary Royals 4-4 Saturday before falling 6-1 to the Calgary Bisons on Sunday. Josiah Jackson, Ty Hynes and Kayden Yeaman led Saturday’s offence with a goal and an assist each, while Cole Fisher rounded out the scoring. Kolter Gans stopped 34 shots to avoid the loss. Colby Gulliver scored SEAC’s lone goal on Sunday. Gans stopped 23 shots in the loss. The Tigers (8-6-2) are on the road Saturday to face the Red Deer Rebels. U15 AA girls The Southern Express U15 AA team slipped to 4-4-2 on the Alberta Elite Female Hockey League season with a 2-1 shootout loss to the Rocky Mountain Raiders on Friday night in Lethbridge. Campbelle Goss scored the lone goal for the Express, while Taya Christie stopped 35 shots, as well as five more in the shootout, but the Raiders ultimately escaped with the victory. The Express are back on the ice Friday to face the Peace County Storm. U15 AA boys South East Athletic Club’s U15 AA Tigers defeated the Foothills Bisons 5-2 on Sunday to improve to 8-5-3 on the South Central Alberta Hockey League season. Talen Thornton, Baker Thompson and Brennan Finke scored in succession to take over a 3-2 lead in the second period, then Owen Gustafson and Austin Murphey pushed the game out of reach in the third. Kayne Wright turned away 30 shots for the win. The Tigers will be at the Kinplex on Saturday to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes. U15 A girls Medicine Hat’s U15 A girls hockey team rebounded from a 7-5 loss to Airdrie Saturday with a 2-1 win over Lethbridge on Sunday. Darby Amundsun had a goal and two assists, while Jayden Dennison, Ryley Sanders and Parvati Broesky all had one of each and Kapri Coston added an individual tally to round out the scoring. Rehn Hall stopped 33 shots in the loss. Savanna Donnelly and Ryley Sanders scored Sunday to power Medicine Hat back into the win column, while Hall stopped 36 shots for the win. The split weekend puts Medicine Hat at 1-4 on the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League season. The team will host Okotoks on Saturday morning at Co-op Place. U13 AA boys The Medicine Hat Hounds Black U13 AA squad went 2-1 over the weekend, bouncing back from a 6-2 loss to the Wheatland Braves on Friday with 7-3 and 8-3 wins over the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Ilya Khazov and George Maser scored in Friday’s loss. Maser added another Saturday, while Cole Siewert had two. Rhyder Arnold, Logan Neuls and Nixon Davis rounded out the scoring. Macinnis Harvey-Zenk stopped 22 shots to collect the win. Arnold, Khazov and Everett Ward all scored twice in Sunday’s win, while Neuls and Caleb Whyte-Duheme added individual tallies. The Hounds Black (9-6-0) host the Foothills Bisons on Saturday night at Kin 2. The Hounds Orange fell to 4-9-2 with a 9-2 loss to the Wheatland Braves on Saturday. Liam Green and Brogan Verishine scored for Medicine Hat in the loss, while Caleb Matheson stopped 26 shots. The Hounds Orange are back in action Saturday to host the Okotoks Oilers at the Kinplex. U13 A girls The Medicine Hat U13 A girls hockey team fell 7-2 to Red Deer on the road Saturday. Brooke Watts and Aviana Velichko scored for Medicine Hat, while Katie Hilton stopped 20 shots in the loss. Medicine Hat (4-1-0) will hit the road Friday to face Picture Butte. U13 B girls Medicine Hat’s U13 B girls hockey team defeated Okotoks Gold 4-1 on Sunday at the Kinplex, pushing them to 2-2-0 on the RMFHL season. Madilyn Hurlbut scored twice, while Ella Thompson and Lila Tuchscherer added individual goals and Braxtyn Baugh turned away 12 shots in the victory. Medicine Hat will head down Highway 3 Saturday to face Lethbridge. 54
