U16 Goal Diggers keep rolling

The Medicine Hat Goal Diggers U16 ringette team was in Airdrie Sunday to take on the Sting. The Goal Diggers came out hungry, heavily outshooting Airdrie and winning 3-1 before taking a 9-4 win from the undefeated Rockyford Ringers Sunday.

Linsey Bechtold got Saturday’s win between he pipes and the goal scorers were Pacie Harper with two and Hanna Thompson with one.

The Goal Diggers then travelled down the road Rockyford and erased an early deficit to come away with the win. Sophie Kerr got Medicine Hat on the board with her first of three goals and six points in the game. Harper led the team with four goals and seven points in the win as Avery Weisgerber added a pair.

Kyree Stern Rebmann got the win in net, pushing the team’s league record to 5-1. The Goal Diggers return to action this Sunday when they host the Cochrane Rockies for a pair of games at the Kinplex at 10:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

Open

On Friday the Open C Force travelled to Lethbridge for the Bridge Ringette Tournament and settled for a silver medal.

In the opening game, the Force played against the Lethbridge Open B and lost a close 3-2 contest. Goals came from Hanna Heidel and Kianna Sullivan. On Saturday, the Force played the U19A Regina Outlaws and won 5-0. Jordyn Clarke picked up the shutout as the Force got two goals from Kennedy Wilson and Jensen Wilk. Jenna Clarke rounded out the scoring with one of her own.

Saturday afternoon the Force beat the U19A Lethbridge Rattlers 7-4. Jurnee Elliott had a hat trick in the win with Sullivan, Wilson, Jenna McDonnell and Amanda Beaudoin each adding a goal. On Sunday, the Force lost 3-2 in the gold medal game in a rematch with Lethbridge. Goals came from McDonnell and Camryn Selwood.

U10

The U10 Junior Gators participated in their first tournament- the Lethbridge Bridge Battle – this past weekend. They played in three games over the weekend with no scores recorded.
