Cubs beat up on Lomond in 12-2 victory

The Medicine Hat Cubs cruised to a lopsided 12-2 win over the Lomond Lakers on Sunday a the Kinplex, outshooting their opponents 64-15 in the process.

Ethan Machan (2G, 1A), Callen Prosofky (1G, 2A) and Jamal Shaw (1G, 2A) all had three points in the win, while Conner Douglas (2G), Jacob Milne (2G), Levi Schlosser (1G, 1A), Conner Miller (1G, 1A) and Everett Stewart (2A) each added two.

Layne Gilroy stopped 13 shots to secure the win and push the Cubs to 10-5-1 on the Heritage Junior Hockey League season. Lomond fell to 3-13-1.

The Cubs are on the road Saturday to face the Mountainview Colts before returning to the Kinplex Sunday to host the Kainai Junior Braves at 4 p.m.
