Rattlers top Ambrose 12-0 in women’s soccer

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s soccer team cruised to a dominant 12-0 win over the Ambrose Lions on Sunday at the Snake Pit.

Maisa Rebello led the offence with five goals, while Shelby Bach and Emily Lafreniere added two goals apiece, and Tamara Barth, Morgan Tole and Ana Waurynchuk all had individual tallies.

Amanda Oevering stopped one shot to secure the clean sheet for MHC.

The win puts the Rattlers at 2-1 on the regular season following a 6-4 win over the Augustana Vikings on Sept. 18 and a 4-0 loss to the Lethbridge Kodiaks on Friday.

MHC’s men’s soccer team (1-2) picked up its first win over the season Sunday in a 5-1 win over Ambrose.

Pilani Siwela scored twice, while Ardit Zejnullahu, Aminja Abbe and Nahshon Ranger-Reece each added a goal.

Matthew Wideman scored the lone tally for Ambrose.

The Rattlers soccer teams return to the pitch Saturday to host the Olds Broncos at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
