Plenty of parity at lawn bowling club

By Medicine Hat News on July 22, 2021.

Parity pushed its way to the forefront in the Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club’s singles league Monday.

After opening the campaign with losses, Curt and Barb Moll rebounded to collect a pair of victories and prevent anyone from taking a second win in the standings through two weeks of the season.

Barb (1-1) rallied to a 13-10 victory over Mike Gilchrist (0-2) while Curt (1-1) took a 10-8 win from Wes Bresee (1-1).

Steven Bezanson did not play Monday, and sits at 1-0 on the season.

The pairs league returned to the lawn Tuesday, with Barb and Curt Moll continuing their hot week with an 11-5 win over Gilchrist and Beth Davies.

Also Tuesday, Frank Buck and Joyce-Ann Bacon defeated Bill Cuthill and Joan Theriault 13-4.

Barb and Curt Moll sit atop the pairs standings at 2-0 after two weeks, while Wes and Jean Bresee are just behind at 1-0. Buck and Bacon sit third at 1-1, followed by Gilchrist and Davies (0-1), and Cuthill and Theriault (0-2).
