Sillinger earns top-10 nod

A pair of Medicine Hat Tigers had their named listed on NHL Central Scouting’s final draft rankings Thursday, with forward Cole Sillinger earning one of the highest spots in recent memory at 10th among North American skaters..

Sillinger – who spent his season south of the border on loan with the Sioux Falls Stampede – is second among WHL skaters behind only Edmonton Oil Kings forward Dylan Guenther, who holds the fifth ranking.

Tigers defenceman Dru Krebs also earned a spot on the list at 142nd among North American skaters. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound defenceman recorded 11 assists with a plus-4 rating over 23 games with Medicine Hat this season.

Down in Sioux Falls, Sillinger racked up 24 goals and 22 assists in 31 games to lead the Stampede in scoring and finish 19th in the United States Hockey League’s scoring race.

Sillinger recorded 22 goals and 31 assists in 48 games as a rookie with Medicine Hat in the 2019-20, and had five goals over six games at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in November 2019.

The NHL Entry Draft is scheduled to take place July 23-24.
