Medicine Hat High School has unveiled its new logos just over a month after rebranding the schools athletics teams as the Hawks. Hat High announced it would be changing its nickname back in September, stating the previous names of “Mohawks” and “Kwahommies” would no longer be used. The school came up with a list of eight potential names and reached out to the public for their assistance in picking which would go on to represent the school. A total of 2,387 people voted – with students making up 45% of that total – and 60% voted in favour of the Hawks. Several variations of the Hawks logo were unveiled this week, from a full airborne hawk, to a hawk’s head, and three streaking talons, with various fonts representing the team’s name – including the school’s iconic M logo. 5
