Weiss signs with Pontiacs

By Medicine Hat News on May 1, 2021.

Local goaltender Bodee Weiss has signed with Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Bonnyville Pontiacs.

Weiss’s club team, South Alberta Hockey Academy in Dunmore, tweeted out the news on social media Friday.

“Bodee’s work ethic and attention to detail on the ice, in the gym, and in the classroom make him an ideal student-athlete,” reads the SAHA tweet. “We are very proud to see his hard work pay off.”

The 17-year-old Hatter put in four Canadian Sport School Hockey League games with SAHA’s U18 male prep squad before COVID cancelled the remainder of the campaign, sporting a 3.10 goals against average with an .898 save percentage and a 2-1-0 record.

Last season, Weiss posted a .905 SV% with a 3.75 GAA while going 7-10-0 with Prairie Hockey Academy’s U16 squad.
