The Medicine Hat Tigers have named their new captain.

The team announced Wednesday morning that Ryan Chyzowski will serve as Medicine Hat’s captain for the Western Hockey League’s 24-game season. Cole Clayton and Brett will take on alternate roles, with Carson Hopwo and Lukas Svekjovsky rotating a third “A” for the team.

Chyzowski steps into the role after James Hamblin spent two consecutive seasons as captain before graduating from the WHL when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2019-20 season.
