Medicine Hat Tigers forward Lukas Svejkovsky punched his ticket to the Memorial eCup’s second round with a 7-1 victory over guest competitor Zach Hodder on Saturday. Hodder – a WHL graduate who played for five different teams, including the Tigers – opted to compete as the Vancouver Giants, but couldn’t knock Svejkovsky off his game in a lopsided affair. Former Tigers defenceman Trevor Longo – now with the Giants – also won his opener Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Max McCue of the London Knights. Svejkovsky now awaits his second-round opponent. The first round of the 64-team e-sports hockey tournament continues Wednesday. 5
