Schlemko bests the field in Speedway’s Rumblebee class

By Medicine Hat News on September 9, 2020.

Dennis Schlemko completed a climb up the podium on Saturday at the Medicine Hat Speedway.

After finishing third in each of the Speedway’s first race days this summer, Schlemko bested the field Saturday in his No. 7 car to take top spot among the Busy Bee Rumblebees Saturday.

Brittney Young followed up for second in the Rumblebee class, while Terry Parr placed third.

Jason Koska took top spot in the Just Smok’n Hobby Stocks class, followed by Shane Messmer and Serge Perrault.

In the Davis GMC Elite Street class, Thomas Payne finished first ahead of Alf Hieb and Art Petkau.

Due to the COVID-19 shortened season, the Speedway has opted not to race for championships this summer – instead focusing on daily winners based on accumulated points.

Action returns to the Speedway this weekend for the final two race days of the season. Elite Street, Mini Cup cars, Rumblebees, Baby Grands and trucks will all be in action Saturday and Sunday.
