Jean Nitchke clinched a triple crown over the weekend at Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.
The local golfer shot an 83-86-169 to win the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club senior ladies’ title for her third golf championship of the season.
The big weekend followed up a victory at the Connaught Golf Club championship, as well as the Super Senior title at the Alberta Senior Ladies Championship in Edmonton last month.
The News was informed of her feat by Nitchke’s friend, Carol Kavanaugh, who says Nitchke “works very hard on her game,” which has been proven this summer.
“She is very humble, but myself and all her friends are very proud of her accomplishments and commitment to the game of golf,” Kavanaugh said in an email to the News. “She and Marg Derbyshire also work very hard helping to organize the Southeastern golf tournament as well as the four-lady scramble in September.”
