Bubu Benjamin named Colts top baller

Bubu Benjamin has collected the title of McCoy Colts varsity boys basketball team MVP, the school announced Thursday on Facebook.

Benjamin was joined in the social media spotlight by top defensive player Seth Fandrick, rookie of the year Holden Lehr, and co-MVPs with the least recognition Ethan Smith and Kam Roberts.

BJ Jul and Brooklyn Schafer shared the MVP title for the varsity girls basketball team, while Jaden Brown was named most valuable with the least recognition, Claire Holt took rookie of the year and Megan Morrison earned the nod for top defensive player.

On the junior varsity girls squad, Hannah Cameron took the MVP honours, while Poni Nyarsuk won most valuable with the least recognition, Myla Anhel took most improved and Libby Bourassa was named the best defensive player.

Evan Morrison was named the most valuable player on the junior varsity boys squad, while Zack Jacobs was named most improved and RJ Lorenzo took most valuable with the least recognition.

McCoy will announce the winners of the Brad Jackle Award, for excellence and leadership in sports and in the classroom, today at noon on Facebook.
