Medicine Hat News Brooklyn Schafer was named the most valuable player on the McCoy Colts varsity girls volleyball team, the school announced Wednesday on Facebook. Mikayla Clarke was also honoured with the title of most valuable with the least recognition, while Claire Holt and Brookelyn Kuhn shared rookie of the year. Justin Barcelonia was named MVP for the varsity boys team, while Holden Lehr and Owen Burzminski shared the title of most valuable with the least recognition, Nicholas Parlee won the Jamie Quinn Memorial Award for most improved and Carson Sauter took rookie of the year honours. Libby Bourassa was named the most valuable player on the junior varsity girls squad, with Paige Gerl taking most valuable with the least recognition and Andie Suhai getting the nod for most improved. Lehr and Burzminski also shared MVP honours for the junior varsity boys team, while Sauter was named most valuable with the least recognition and Joel McLeod earned the title of most improved. McCoy will announce its basketball award winners today on Facebook at noon. 8
