McCoy Colts hand out football hardware

By Medicine Hat News on June 10, 2020.

Receiver Haedyn Davies has been named the most valuable player on this year’s turnaround McCoy Colts football team.

The news was announced through Monsignor McCoy High School’s Facebook page Tuesday afternoon, just a few weeks after Davies signed on to continue his career with the Canadian Junior Football League’s Calgary Colts.

Ethan Smith took home the Spiritus Award, while Toras Brooks was named most outstanding back and Koby Laychuk-May – who recently signed with the CJFL’s Vancouver Island Raiders – was named the team’s most valuable player with the least recognition.

The Dan Boksteyn Memorial Award for the team’s unsung hero went to Seth Fandrick, while Xavier Bueckert was named rookie of the year and Dominic Makoi-Nestrovich took the title of most outstanding lineman.

McCoy will announce the school’s volleyball award winners today at noon via Facebook.
