Hamblin earns another accolade

By Medicine Hat News on April 9, 2020.

The accolades keep coming for graduating Medicine Hat Tigers captain James Hamblin.

The 20-year-old Edmonton product took home the team’s leading scorer award Wednesday after topping the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference with 36 goals and 56 assists for 92 points over 63 games this season.

The Tigers began announcing their annual awards through social media Tuesday in lieu of a banquet – which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team plans to release one each day through April 19. Hamblin took home the first two after earning the most goals award Tuesday, as well as a place on the Eastern Conference’s first all-star team.

The Tigers will reveal their scholastic player of the year via social media Thursday.
