Stroh claims top title at Hat men’s bonspiel

By Medicine Hat News on March 10, 2020.

The Medicine Hat Curling Club’s men’s bonspiel wrapped up Sunday with a battle between familiar faces, even if one doesn’t live here anymore.

John Stroh’s home team prevailed 5-4 over the Calgary foursome skipped by Tim Krassman, a longtime regular at the Hat club.

Stroh, with Garth Stark, Mike Stroh and Fred Weinheimer, led 4-0 before Krassman stole in consecutive ends and had shot rock under cover in the eighth.

But the Stroh team got its last rock to the four-foot.

World Financial Group and Delvin Moch’s teams shared third place in the A event.

In the B, Kyle Wagner (with Corey Perrin, Jason Kunz and Greg Sjolie) won over Jason Tuchscherer in seven ends. C. Sehn Trucking and the Bowyer team shared third place.

The C final saw Jamie Motokado (with Sam Nygaard throwing skip stones, Roland Poirier and Jason McLean) shook hands with Drew Heidt’s team leading 7-1 through seven ends. Carmen Ressler and Dynamic Industrial Solutions shared third.

Finally, the Funk Foursome (Trevor Funk, Jordan Kindrat, John Osjanikow and Bryden Smith) beat Jake’s Drywall for the D event title. Andy Stroh and Rob Wall were both third.
