Margins were slim for Ultimate Cheer Fusion’s teams at the True North Cheerleading Championships in Edmonton this past weekend.

Four UCF teams competed both Saturday and Sunday, with two placing third and two fifth in their respective divisions.

The Shockwave junior team brought home bronze, their 10-person squad ranging in age from eight to 12 years old.

The 5- and 6-year-old Glimmer team was third in their tiny prep division.

In the 10-team junior Level 2 division, UCF’s Flash (8- to 14-year-olds) had to settle for fifth despite a score of 93.92 that was less than a point away from first.

Finally, Blast’s 7- to 11-year-olds were fifth in a six-team youth division.
