Bulldogs compete at indoor track provincials in Edmonton

A pair of Bulldogs Track and Field Club members finished their indoor season this past weekend in Edmonton.

Devyn Perret and Lexine Rodriguez-Velez competed in the Alberta Indoor Games meet. Both in the under-14 girls division, Perret finished 15th overall on the first day and 18th on the second. Rodriguez-Velez was 22nd on the first day and tied Perret for 18th on the second.

Perret’s best event was the ball throw and 1,000 metre run, where she was eighth in each event. Rodriguez-Velez had the best finish in shot put, 20th.

Other Bulldogs were at the meet but their provincial finals aren’t until this coming weekend. Renae Ryan, Lukas Herter and Orin May each wound up with two second-place finishes.

Ryan was runner-up in the under-35 women’s 60 and 300 metre. Herter and May were both int he under-20 men’s division. Herter was second in 300 and 600, while May was second in 60 and 60 metre hurdles.
