Hat High’s basketball teams had a perfect Saturday in Cardston, racking up four wins. The varsity boys rolled to a 107-86 victory, led by Ethan Egert’s 27 points and Artchie Belza’s 23. In varsity girls play the Kwahommies won 66-53. Tori Kaczynski led all scorers with 21 points, while Hailee Parker had 16. The junior Mohawks won 88-65 with Connor Appell’s 21 points leading the way, while the junior girls had the widest margin of victory, a 97-33 score in which every player on the roster scored. Both varsity teams earned honourable mentions from the Alberta Schools Athletic Association’s rankings committee Monday. 3A In other rankings, Monsignor McCoy’s girls are in a familiar spot, second in the 3A rankings. The Colts’ boys got an honourable mention in 3A. The only other Hat-area school mentioned in the rankings released Monday is the Eagle Butte girls, who got an honourable mention in 3A. 9
