Medicine Hat’s under-10 Wolfpack ringette team is surging in confidence, and offence too.

The Wolfpack combined for 25 goals in two home games Saturday against the Strathmore Ice Devils.

Game 1 at the Moose Rec Centre was a 14-1 blowout highlighted not just by the offence, but also goalie Jacqueline LeBlanc coming within a minute of a shutout.

Emma Pinnell had a hat trick, while Lacey Gibney, Breanna Lanuk and Josie Hillson each had two goals.

The goals kept flowing in Game 2, even though Strathmore scored first. An 11-6 final for the Wolfpack included three empty-net goals as the visitors pulled out all the stops, including their goalie, in the waning minutes.

Under-16

The under-16 Matrix split a pair of games on the road Saturday. They fell 10-3 to the AC Blue team in Airdrie, then headed into Calgary and earned a 6-2 decision over the Northwest Armada.

No details were reported.

Under-14

As per the Calgary Ringette League website, the under-14 Maximum had a win and a tie against the Calgary Mayhem Sunday. At Hockey Hounds Arena they wound up with a 4-4 tie, then moving to the Moose Rec Centre they lost 5-1.

Under-12

In Calgary for a pair of games Sunday, Medicine Hat’s under-12 Blackout tied their first but were doubled up in their second.

A 7-7 draw against Eclipse saw Ryleigh Jackiw score three goals, with singles coming from Ravyn Lehr, Kensington Provost, Margot Kerr and Sophie Stock.

Facing Northwest Tsunami in the back end of the doubleheader, Medicine Hat lost 12-6 despite another hat trick from Jackiw.
