Rattlers return to hardwood tonight against Kodiaks

The Medicine Hat Rattlers basketball teams will open the 2020 portion of their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference campaign when they return to the Snake Pit tonight to host the Lethbridge Kodiaks.

Medicine Hat 4-5 women’s squad hits the court to open the doubleheader at 6 p.m. against 6-4 Lethbridge.

Guard Morgan Muir and forward Katelyn Rozdeba led the offence for the women’s team through 2019, averaging 16.4 and 14.9 points per game, respectively. Rozdeba also leads the team in rebounds with an average of 9.1.

Guard Denajha Kie has been powering the Kodiaks with 15 points per game, while post Kirsten Barwegen leads in rebounds with 8.4.

The Rattlers men’s squad (2-7) will close out the night with the aim of topping the undefeated Kodiaks (10-0).

Kieron Burgess leads the men’s squad in both points and rebounds, averaging a double-double per game with 19.7 points and 13.9 boards.

The Kodiaks have been bolstered by an average 22.5 points per night from guards Brock Dewsbury and 19.1 from Orin Porter. Dewsbery also leads Lethbridge with 6.9 rebounds per game.
