Tigers back in action

By Medicine Hat News on December 27, 2019.

The Medicine Hat Tigers return to the ice tonight with a trip to Swift Current to officially wrap up the first half of what’s been a season to remember.

The WHL’s top-scoring team at the holiday break will play its 34th game of the 68-game campaign against the Broncos, who have given up the most goals.

The last time the teams met, Sept. 28, Medicine Hat won 10-1. That’s the kind of season it’s been for both sides, as the Tigers are 22-10-1-0 while the Broncos are 6-22-1-2.

That said, both teams went into the break with losses. Two in a row for Medicine Hat and nine for Swift Current.

Swift’s Ethan Regnier leads his team with 15 points, a total that 10 Hat players have bettered including league scoring leader James Hamblin (52) and rookie scoring leader Cole Sillinger (35).

Medicine Hat hosts Calgary Saturday, then visits the Saddledome for a New Year’s Day afternoon matchup to start 2020.
