Local boys selected to Alberta Games roster

By Medicine Hat News on December 11, 2019.

Edit: This story has been edited to reflect the fact that six, not two as originally published, boys were selected.

Six local boys have been named to play hockey at the Alberta Winter Games in February.

Forward Ryan Miller of Medicine Hat and Cash Olson of Redcliff made the 20-man roster for the Zone 1 team announced by Hockey Alberta Tuesday.

On the Zone 2 team are Tate Bowal (D, Desert Blume), Slade McFadzen (D, Redcliff), Cole Fisher (F, Medicine Hat) and Josiah Jackson (F, Medicine Hat).

The Games take place in Airdrie Feb. 14-17. In hockey, 160 boys will take part while 120 girls were named to six teams last week. No Medicine Hat girls were announced, nor was a Zone 1 team at all.

Miller plays with the Medicine Hat Black peewee AA team, and has 34 points in 15 games so far this season. Olson has 29 points in 14 games with Medicine Hat Orange.
