The Medicine Hat Tigers were in the market for a forward and Cyle McNabb fit the bill. The 19-year-old from Winnipeg was traded to the Tigers Tuesday from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a conditional sixth round bantam draft pick in 2021, ostensibly to pick up ice time with a couple injuries narrowing the Tigers’ roster. With fellow forwards Bryan Lockner (day-to-day) and Nick McCarry (5-10 days) out with lower body injuries, plus defenceman Trevor Longo day-to-day with a similar ailment, McNabb comes in as a veteran of three WHL teams in the past two years. He had seven points in 17 games with the Blades this season, having been picked up by the team mid-way through last season. After a season-and-a-half with the Vancouver Giants he was traded to Kootenay, then flipped to Saskatoon after just three games with the Ice. Medicine Hat is in Moose Jaw Friday before hosting their annual teddy bear toss game Saturday against McNabb’s former team. 6
