Colts start 1-3 at V-ball provincials

The McCoy Colts girls volleyball team struggled to a 1-3 start at the Alberta Schools Athletic Association 3A girls championships at St. Paul Regional High School.Â

While the Colts opened their weekend on a three-set loss to Beaverlodge (25-20, 22-25, 15-12) Thursday, they rebounded to take a two-set victory from Barrhead (25-16, 25-22) before dropping back-to-back games to close out Friday’s action – falling 26-24, 25-18 to Edmonton Christian and 15-25, 25-21, 15-9 to Springbank Community.Â

The Colts return to the court to close out the round robin Saturday against Holy Rosary (1-3) at 8:30 a.m.

The bronze medal game is slated for 3:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul, followed by the gold medal game at 4:45 p.m.
