The Crescent Heights varsity boys and girls volleyball teams pose together after both getting to the final of a tournament in Canmore Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019. The girls won and the boys took home silver in their respective events.

Not one but two Crescent Heights High School volleyball teams made it to the last matches of the day at a tournament in Canmore this past weekend.

The Vikings girls won their fourth tournament in a row, rolling past Airdrie’s George MacDougall 2-0 (25-15, 25-11). That followed a tense 2-1 (25-16, 22-25, 15-12) win over Monsignor McCoy in the semifinals, potentially a preview of league and zone playoffs in the next month.

As for the boys, they beat High River 2-0 (25-22, 25-20) in the semifinals but were downed 2-0 (25-16, 25-17) by the host team from Canmore in the gold medal game.

The boys host their last league match of the season tonight at 6 p.m.
