Medicine Hat Tigers winger Cole Sillinger celebrates after scoring his first career goal against the Edmonton Oil Kings in Game 3 of the Western Hockey LeagueÕs Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Canalta Centre. Sillinger was named to Canada's Team White for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which begins Nov. 2 in Medicine Hat and Swift Current. Sillinger and Team White will play their round robin games at Canalta Centre.

Cole Sillinger will indeed play at Canalta Centre while his Medicine Hat Tigers teammates are on the road in early November.

The 16-year-old WHL rookie was named to Team Canada White for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge which begins Nov. 2 in Medicine Hat and Swift Current.

Though confirmed last week as one of the 66 players for Canada, it was largely expected that Sillinger – who has 15 points in 12 games for the Tigers – would be on either the Black or White rosters. Those two are in Group A along with the United States and the Czech Republic, which will all play their round robin games at Canalta Centre.

Canada Red will play in Group B in Swift Current along with Finland, Russia and Sweden.

Fans in Medicine Hat will be able to see Red play an exhibition game Oct. 31 however, as they square off against the U.S. at Canalta at 7 p.m. Other pre-tournament games take place that night in Shaunavon (Canada Black vs. Finland), Brooks (Sweden vs. Czech Republic) and Swift Current (Canada White vs. Russia).

The Tigers begin an eight-game road trip in Edmonton Friday while the under-17 tournament gets going.

Single-game tickets are now available through Ticketmaster after group tickets were all that was available the past while.

Bronze and gold medal games will be in Medicine Hat Nov. 9.
